Financial Software Designer Joins Specialized Data Systems

An experienced financial software designer has joined Branford-based Specialized Data Systems, a provider of loan automation technology for lenders, to assist with a newly formed division.

John Bigness will serve as a senior consultant in the firm’s new Professional Services Group.

“Many clients are already familiar with the sales and marketing services we provide for our business partners,” said SDS President Marc Riccio. “With the formation of PSG, we are now offering our New England, New York and New Jersey clients ‘set-up’ assistance for their PowerLender Loan Processing System from [Associated Software Consultants]. This new service is called the PowerLender Set-Up Assistance Program and has been in the planning stages for several months with the complete sponsorship of ASC.”

Bigness, who will manage the SetUp Assistance Program, is also an experienced consultant and trainer who has owned his consulting firm, John Bigness & Co., since 1983. He is considered an expert in mathematics of finance, particularly mortgage truth-inlending and customized computer spreadsheet design.

Bigness’ software products are used by major financial institutions across the country and will now be available through Specialized Data Systems.

Bigness also has experience with mortgage and consumer lending systems after working for two financial institutions as a lending systems administrator. He worked on ASC’s UNIFORM loan processing system for four years, where he was instrumental in installing, setting up and performing ongoing maintenance of UNI-FORM.

He holds a B.A. degree in mathematics from State University of New York at Oswego and an M.B.A. degree from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. He also served as an adjunct instructor in quantitative business analysis at Siena
College and currently serves as a business and information technology instructor at Bryant & Stratton College in Albany, N.Y.
