Specialized Data Systems Offers Business Continuity Planning Services: 1/30/2009

Specialized Data Systems (SDS), headquartered in Branford, CT, is pleased to announce a new offering to their suite of products and services.

With the addition of Tracy Hall, MBCP, SDS will begin offering Business Continuity Planning Services as part of their Professional Services Group. Ms. Hall holds her master’s certification in Business Continuity and brings with her more than 10 years of Business Continuity experience. Her services include Plan Assessment, Business Impact Analysis, Plan Development and Maintenance, Testing Assistance, Awareness, and Pandemic Planning.

For over 20 years, SDS has partnered with industry leading software companies to provide flexible and cost-effective software and services to financial institutions including banks, credit unions, and mortgage companies. SDS currently maintains a 40% market share of banks in Connecticut in addition to clients throughout New England. “As we celebrate our 20th year in business, we have assisted hundreds of financial institutions of all sizes who continue to look to us for solutions that lower their costs, increase their productivity, satisfy compliance requirements and improve service,” says Marc Riccio, President. “We have also learned the value of offering professional services to assist in implementing and managing the technology we have to offer. In doing so, we are always asked if we can help banks comply with the latest guidelines for Business Continuity.” Riccio adds “Community banks don’t always have the proper resources to ensure that their Business Continuity programs are sufficient and kept current and the feedback from the auditors show that. We are very pleased to be able to offer Tracy’s knowledge and expertise in this area.”

“As we are aware of the 2008 updates to the FFIEC guidelines on Business Continuity, we are tailoring our Business Continuity planning services to address the standards set forth by the regulators who govern the banking community” says Ms. Hall. “We realize that there are challenges in this area unique to this vertical and have proven success in assisting our customers to overcome those challenges. Bringing together SDS’ successful relationships with banking professionals in New England and in depth knowledge of the banking business over the past twenty years and my extensive experience in Business Continuity, we are already making significant progress with this new offering.”

Tracy also has acquired in-depth knowledge of several BCP automated software solutions. She is currently doing extensive market research to find the best product, in functionality and cost, to meet the requirements of the banking industry. “We are finding that our community banks don’t necessarily need and can’t always afford all the fancy bells and whistles that some products offer. They require software that is comprehensive, yet simple to implement and manage” says Hall. “We look forward to representing the right solution in the near future.
